COD Kosovo is working on the issues related to promotion of the rights of persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups since 2012.
Mission - COD Kosovo
Mission of COD Kosovo is to work on and support capacity building of local actors in Kosovo, during times of transition towards EU, in order to make all vulnerable groups, with a special focus on people with disabilities, women and youth enjoying their human rights, fundamental rights and equal opportunities.
SOME FACTS AND FIGURES:
There are approximately 785 to 975 million persons with disabilities (over age 15) in the world. In some countries they make up more than 15.6% of the population. Persons with disabilities are the world’s largest minority group (WHO World Report on Disability, 2011).
