Policy Paper – 01 Inclusive local development (download)
This document is intended for all Handicap International actors at local or „community“ level (clearly identified geographical zone enabling local action). It is the reference document designed to guide the conception and implementation of these actions. It describes what inclusive local development is, why it is important to be involved in this issue, who intervenes and, more importantly, how to intervene (2009).

This document is a tool to help develop accessibility as a theme in its own right. It aims to support projects that include accessibility as a major theme, as well as numerous projects that include specific, one-off activities aimed at facilitating access for people with disabilities (2009).

Policy Paper – 03 Mental health in post-crisis and development contexts: (download)
It intends to promote implementing interventions and theoretical exchanges on pragmatic approaches in mental health, whilst offering a space of dialogue, confrontation, coconstruction and the pursue of a “well-leaving together” (2011).

Policy Paper – 04 Support to Organisations Representative of Persons with Disabilities (2011): (download)
This policy paper describes Handicap International’s mandate and values in operational terms as applied to supporting organisations representative of persons with disabilities. It presents the approaches and references for Handicap International’s actions, choices and commitments. It aims to ensure coherence in terms of practices whilst taking into account different contexts. Essentially this is a guidance document for programme staff which defines the topic and outlines the target populations, methods of intervention (expected results, activities) and indicators for monitoring and evaluation.

This policy paper defines the road safety themes, explains how these activities fit into the organisation’s mandate, identifies the target populations and defines modalities of intervention (standard expected outcomes, standard activities) as well as monitoring and evaluation indicators.
